Golden Eagle Festival with hikes in Altai Tavan Bogd National Park

Another opportunity is to combine a visit to the Eagle Festival with a trip to the Altai Tavan Bogd national park or the Khoton Khurgan lakes. This trip would take about 3 days.
In the end of September, the beginning of October, it is impossible to live in a tent for more than two or three days in the Altai Tavan Bogd mountainous area because of extreme temperatures so we usually go from Ulgii to either Tsagaan-Gol or to the Oigor river valley which takes one day and from there we will go to the Base camp of Tavan Bogd on foot or on horseback before returning to Ulgii. The whole trip takes about 3 days.
